Thank you to all who participated in the Tractor Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run!

For those who weren’t able to attend, it was a fun-filled event.  Mother Nature cooperated this year and provided a cool, slightly overcast morning (perfect race weather).  Racers and spectators were treated to a complimentary DELICIOUS breakfast from Ashley’s Sweet Beginnings.  WBAL’s C4 and 98 Rock’s Justin Schlegel welcomed attendees and then Justin led an entertaining pre-run warmup.  Baltimore County Police Color Guard presented the flags for our National Anthem which was sung beautifully by the talented Officer Jen Peach.  We were honored to have the Baltimore County Chief of Police, Terry Sheridan in attendance as our official race starter.  Officer Jim Morrison then spoke about the importance of the race beneficiary, The Baltimore County Police Assistance and Relief Fund.

The Family Fun Run was a special event for the kids this year, as they were sworn in as honorary officers and given their first mission:  Capture the criminal on the race course!  A chase ensued when the criminal was spotted and the kids apprehended none other than Justin Schlegel.

Baltimore County Police provided a K-9 Demonstration and attendees were given an opportunity to see the Baltimore County Police Helicopter and the Baltimore County Police Armored Vehicle up close.  McGruff the Crime Dog made an appearance; a petting area allowed attendees to visit with some favorite farm animals; and tractors lined the park entrance.

A post-race party was hosted by the Green Turtle of Hunt Valley, where racers continued to celebrate their completion of the challenging 5K course while supporting the Baltimore County Police Assistance and Relief Fund.
