It’s Your Livelihood. Make Sure It’s Protected.
Whether you’re a local grower or a large cultivator, we understand the value of insuring your greatest asset. At Redmer Insurance Group, we’re dedicated to providing the agricultural coverage and services you need to keep your farm or ranch protected – so you can focus on maintaining a smooth operation.
We know that you work hard as a farmer, and at Redmer Insurance Group we want to extend that same courtesy to you by keeping your farm and everything on it insured. Our insurance specialists are sensitive to your individual needs and will work with you to find a policy that best suits your farm or ranch.
Why Farm Insurance?
Your farm is your livelihood, and you can never be too cautious. Since an accident can happen when you least expect it, it’s important to be prepared when potential problems arise. By being proactive with a proper farm policy, your equipment, buildings, and even lost income can be covered in the event that an unforeseen circumstance disrupts your operations.
You’ve worked hard to build your farm into a business. Redmer Insurance Group will work even harder to ensure that your business is protected.
We provide insurance solutions for farmers near White Marsh, Baltimore, Bel Air, Towson, Columbia, and North East.
Farm Transition Planning
Your Land is Your Legacy. How will you pass it on to the next generation? Over the next 20 years, more than 70% of private farmland will change hands. Be prepared for your operation’s future. As a Nationwide On Your Side® Farm Certified and Land as Your Legacy™ agency, we can help guide you through the steps to protect your business.
Ensure the seamless transition of your farm or ranch to the next generation.
You can trust we'll be there to help you navigate the 5 stages of transition planning:
1] Succession Planning
In this phase, we'll think about what’s in the best interest of your farm or ranch. We'll give you the tools you need to hold a family meeting so you and the next generation can decide who will be running operations in the future.
2] Business Planning
We'll examine your operation and evaluate its profitability and health. That way, we can help you determine if the farm can support or grow to support multiple families in the future.
3] Risk Management
You need to identify, address and prepare for risks – and we can help. We'll discuss if you should have a plan in place for long-term care expenses, or if supplemental income or insurance is needed by either generation.
4] Financial Independence
This phase includes a discussion about the current generation. We'll help you determine if you can afford to retire and perhaps transition to a mentoring role for the next generation. In this scenario, the current generation helps transition agreements and relationships, while the new generation learns the intricacies of farm management
5] Estate Planning
In this last phase, our goal is to have a fully-formed plan in place for you. That way, you can work effectively with an attorney to create any documents you may need, such as business documents or beneficiary designations.
